Your Data, Your Universe, Your Control
At Liora, privacy is not merely a policy; it is the foundation of our entire existence. We believe that your learning journey is deeply personal, and your data belongs exclusively to you. This Privacy Policy explains our unwavering commitment to protecting your information and maintaining absolute transparency about our data practices.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Liora mobile application. By using our application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically as we may update it to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
To be unequivocally clear, Liora does not collect, transmit, store, or process the following categories of information on any external servers:
We do not require or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, government identification numbers, or any other information that could identify you personally.
Liora operates without user accounts. There are no passwords, usernames, authentication tokens, or login credentials to collect or compromise.
Your knowledge nodes, notes, study materials, focus session details, and any content you create within the application never leaves your device.
We do not track which features you use, how long you spend in the application, your learning patterns, or any behavioral metrics.
We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, operating system details, or hardware specifications.
Liora does not access, request, or store any location information, including GPS coordinates or approximate location.
All data generated through your use of Liora is stored exclusively on your device's local storage using industry-standard technologies including SQLite databases and SharedPreferences. This includes:
While your data resides on your device, we implement appropriate security measures including database encryption and secure file storage practices. However, the security of your data also depends on your device security practices, including passcode protection and device encryption.
As your data is stored locally, you are responsible for backing up your device through iCloud or iTunes to prevent data loss. Liora provides export functionality to create additional backups of your learning data.
Liora requests minimal permissions necessary for core functionality. Each permission is explained below:
| Permission | Purpose | When Requested |
|---|---|---|
| To enable you to personalize focus backgrounds, add cover images to knowledge nodes, and set your profile avatar | Only when you actively choose to import an image | |
| To alert you when focus sessions complete or remind you of learning streaks | When you enable notifications in settings |
Access to your photo library is entirely optional and solely for your benefit. Images you select are copied to Liora's private app storage and are never transmitted to us or any third party. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device settings, though imported images may no longer be accessible.
Notifications enhance your learning experience by alerting you to completed focus sessions and streak maintenance. These notifications are generated locally on your device and do not rely on external servers or transmit any data.
Because we collect no data, we have nothing to share. We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer any information to third parties. We have no data sharing agreements with advertisers, analytics providers, or business partners.
In the hypothetical and extremely unlikely scenario where we were to be served with a valid legal request for data, we would be unable to comply because no user data exists on our servers. Your data remains on your device beyond our reach.
If Liora were to be acquired by or merged with another company, this Privacy Policy would continue to apply. However, since we possess no user data, no data would be transferred as part of any such transaction.
Because your data resides entirely on your device, you have complete and immediate control over it. You may exercise the following rights without contacting us or waiting for processing:
All your data is visible within the Liora application. You may view your focus history, knowledge nodes, achievements, and settings at any time.
You may edit, modify, or update any data within the application. Changes take effect immediately.
You may delete individual knowledge nodes, focus records, or your entire application data through the settings menu. Uninstalling the application removes all associated data from your device.
Liora provides data export functionality allowing you to extract your learning data in standard formats for use with other applications or for personal archiving.
You may disable features, turn off notifications, or adjust permissions at any time through your device settings or within the application.
Liora is designed to be appropriate for users of all ages, including children under 13. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Since Liora collects no personal information from any user, children may safely use the application without parental consent regarding data collection. Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's device usage and app installations as appropriate.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to investigate and delete such information if necessary.
As Liora stores all data locally on your device and operates without external servers, no international data transfers occur. Your data never crosses borders, leaves your jurisdiction, or enters foreign legal territories.
Whether you are in the United States, European Union, or anywhere else in the world, your data remains physically on your device, subject only to the laws and regulations of your location.
We do not set arbitrary data retention periods. Your data persists on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You may delete specific items, clear all data, or uninstall the application at any time.
Upon uninstalling Liora, all application data stored on your device is removed by the operating system. We retain no residual copies because we never possessed the data.
If you use iCloud or iTunes backup, your Liora data may be included in those backups according to your backup settings. These backups are managed by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or application functionality. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised policy within the application or on our website.
Since our core privacy principle of zero data collection is fundamental to our architecture, significant changes to our data practices are unlikely. However, we will notify you of any material changes through in-application notifications or other appropriate means.
Your continued use of Liora following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
For users in the European Economic Area, we process personal data under the following legal bases as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation:
We do not process personal data. Since Liora collects no personal data and performs all operations locally on your device, the GDPR's requirements for data processing do not apply to our operations. You, as the data controller of your own information on your own device, retain full responsibility and control.
If you choose to contact us via email, any information you voluntarily provide in that communication is processed based on your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. Since Liora collects no personal information, the following categories do not apply:
California residents may still contact us with privacy-related questions or concerns.
